I can't say I know anything about Toys 'R' Us selling them in any country, but I do know that several sources gave away small Croc plushes during various promotions, mainly for Croc 2 (which is odd, as the ones that have tags - and not all of them actually do have tags, for some reason - have the Croc: Legend of the Gobbos logo on them, not the Croc 2 logo), so the 4 foot tall one is certainly not the only plush Croc in existence. I seem to recall the UK Official PlayStation Magazine giving a small one away with a Croc backpack once, as well. It may also be possible that some countries used them as pre-order incentives, but I really don't know for sure on that one. I think your best bet would be to search eBay with terms such as "croc plush", "croc promo" (or "croc promotional"), and so on, and eventually you may find one, with any luck. eBay's "alert" system (which will send you an e-mail whenever new items show up under a particular search term you've saved) could be a big help here. You'll need an account with them to use that feature, though, as far as I'm aware. I have one of the small ones myself, which I was given by the chaps at Argonaut Software themselves - I'll provide a couple of views of him below. (No, folks, he's not for sale. ) He's about the height of a Coke can, and spends his time guarding my desk from Dantinis. ;D I wish you the best of luck in finding one, racheycroc. EDIT: I just had another thought right after posting, so I'll add it here; Due to the nature of promotional goods, they usually have to be produced in runs of at least a few hundred or so, so they're not exactly close to one of a kind (which the 4ft plush probably is) - some will surely surface eventually.

Thank you! That helped alot I did search ebay before but no luck...shall keep trying though! I am determained to get me a croc! I think your croc is quite possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen. I don't blame you for not selling it...I wouldn't! I expect you have explained before, but how did you get a tour of the argonaut place? Thanks again =]

Thank you! That helped alot I did search ebay before but no luck...shall keep trying though! I am determained to get me a croc! Go for it! ;D For what it's worth, I remember one being sold on eBay some years ago from the US, so the plushes exist in at least two countries - remember to set eBay's search facility to show items worldwide, if you haven't done so already. (You might even come across those Croc 2 magnet sheets that were given away in North America, too. ) Haha, I won the tour in a competition almost a decade ago - it was a promotion for Croc 2, to go and see the game in development, and meet the Croc team. You had to prove how big of a Croc fan you were, and I wrote a multi-page essay containing all the Croc facts I knew - most of the contents of the essay were the basis for the site's Random Facts page, some years later, too (though obviously the Random Facts page contains post-Croc 2 info, along with stuff I learned during the visit, as well ).

Cool! Well done, it's great that you got to go there.
That plushie is awesome, I scoured through hundreds of generic crocodile plushies (that were found when I searched for "croc") on Ebay to try and find a Croc one but failed. It's good you still have that with you.

I didn't know where to post this but I was just browsing some message board thread about 90's platformers on the PS1 when I found this: Everyone has an opinion, and that's fine with me, we're all entitled to them - I don't think there's anything to be sad about, there, dingodile. My opinion, for the sake of discussion and for whatever it is worth (which is about the same as anyone's opinion ), is that it sometimes appears as though an awful lot of people (with the assistance of the press) perhaps hyped themselves up to believe that Croc: Legend of the Gobbos would be, and I quote, "a Super Mario 64 killer" (this being what multiple magazines, particularly PlayStation-focussed ones, kept referring to it as during previews), and it was not. I'm not sure if it was ever intended to be one, either, but even if it was, I don't think it turned out to be a bad game (whichever way it was meant to be, I was always able to enjoy it on its merits, and that's all I care about). I still believe it is a solid game - it just perhaps wasn't in the same sort of bracket as the game it was often compared to. I've always been interested to see any reasons people may have aside from this, although to date I have not come across any - just "it's bad" and other phrases in that vein, with no reasons given.

I know, but I'm quite surprised how a guy who actually worked on the game is ashamed of it... And as for why people just dump on it, a lot of people just don't like 3D character platforming games because they think they're made solely for children and are too embarassed to play them.
Why was the mobile gam in 2005 even made, by the way? I'm not against it, I'm for any attempt at reviving Croc but it seems quite random they'd just make a mobile game many years after Croc 'died out'.

I have to admit, I don't actually know. However, I can hazard a guess. The original game's format, today, is quite suited for handheld play, due to its "bite-sized" levels, and although I have no means to play the mobile phone games and confirm this for sure (I'm just going on the short demonstration that was on the website for the game), I'd think it's a safe bet that this concept may have had an influence. Or maybe I'm just totally wrong. I do know that before Argonaut went under, they were considering a new game for both the then-new handhelds, or possibly the PlayStation 2, though (I sent an e-mail to enquire about it not long before the time when I set up this site first, as they were still around back then), so perhaps the idea to make a new game came from that.

Why is a parkway called a parkway if you actually don't run around in grass and swing on swings?

Say, Forte Wily, did Argonaut ever reply to that email?

Aye, they did - the e-mail was about whether there would be a new Croc game, and their answer was what I mentioned above.
