I thought it would be cool to use some sound effects and voices from Croc 1 and 2 in my animation. Does anyone know how I can get them in a usable form? ;D

Honestly, my best suggestion would be to either use Audacity (since it's an OS-agnostic solution ), and a PSX emulator (again, OS-agnostic), then turn the music volume down to nothing in the options screen in the game, and record away (and don't forget to leave a few moments' gap between actions that cause sound effects, so as for easier editing later). Then you can use Audacity to export the clips to whatever format you need them to be (you'll need LAME/LAMELib for MP3s, but the site for Audacity has links to that). It's less convoluted than trying to find sound-extracting tools that might not even exist.

Hey Sonicroc, if you manage to get some sounds out of it, could you upload them somewhere?

Thanks, Forte Wily, but like I said, I just have the PC versions. If I used emulation, I'd need a ROM (or I could just buy the PS version, but that'd be a waste of money, since I don't even own a Playstation... ). Plus, I have trouble getting emulation to work. Does anyone have any other ideas? Or does someone want to volunteer to do it for me? ;D This isn't very important to the animation, though, so it's no biggy.

I think I can do it. I have the PlayStation versions, so I'll see what I can do. What sounds do you want?

Oh, right... I guess I should probably figure out a list first, eh? ;D You may want to do a test first, though, maybe just Croc's jumping sound. Anyway, thanks for the offer!

I'll do a test then. EDIT: although, thinking about it, you could probably do the same, running audacity, making it record directly from the sound card and then playing the game. EDIT2: it seems that even though I set music volume to mute, it still plays like normal. I guess I won't be able to help you anyway, sorry

I tried that, and it won't work for some reason. I've never been able to get this kind of thing to work. It's fine if you can't get it to work, Per M. It isn't that important, like I said, and I haven't even finished the script yet.
