This is probably a rather tall request, but does anyone have the backgrounds to croc 1, or at least know where I could find them? What kind of format are they in? Also, what kind of program could I use to view/edit them? Any help would be appreciated.

Erf, this is the one thing I couldn't ever work out (and it's not for lack of trying) about the game. ;;

Why is a parkway called a parkway if you actually don't run around in grass and swing on swings?

Oh man! Those backgrounds are awesome. There are no the backgrounds like this anywhere in the gaming universe. ;D Maybe one of those new PC Game Background Ripping Software thingys will work . I gotta look this up.

I could try... screenshooting them maybe. Short of that, I've no idea.

Yeah, I have a whole collection of screen-shot backgrounds from Croc and Croc 2. Some, I actually shot from movies on YouTube, so some are not that good.

Oh and Forte, how did you get the image with Croc+ bakcground in your signature pic? A PlayStation emulator, the camera-move button (Triangle, under the default control scheme), some patience, and a free finger to hit the screenshotting key. I was always quite happy with how that came out.

Oh yes it did come out pretty good. The backgrounds in Croc are very special, like Tyguy said. I've always wondered what all those spires were about, but it really seems like a distant, unknown land, especially the one in your sig.

That's precisely what my perception of it always was (I always figured that they were there to give Forest Island the look of a somewhat mystical/enchanted place, I guess ) - that's why I chose to use that particular background.

I always thought they seemed so incredible because they were made up of largish pixels. In short, something amazing was made of something so simple. In Croc 2, the backgrounds didn't seem as magical to me.
