Why is a parkway called a parkway if you actually don't run around in grass and swing on swings?

I know that we all know that Croc appears as more of a cutesy, kiddie game, especially to those who haven't played it. But what if some parts were creepier- maybe a little more disturbing? I'm thinking namely of the dungeon levels in Croc 1, or at least the castle as a whole. I mean, it is the castle of an evil guy. And some dungeon levels are kind of creepy (the yellow zombie in the Tower of Power dungeon, anyone?), but could they possibly have gotten away with making it even creepier without really taking away from the spirit of the game, and how so? What do you guys think?
Of course, the game doesn't need improvement or anything, that's not what I'm saying. I'm just kind of musing over this, it seems like an interesting thought.

Be careful now. There seems to be a pattern I've noticed on other forums, namely Thomas the Tank Engine and Sonic the Hedgehog forums: People getting defensive about others seeing what they like as "kiddie". On Thomas websites, this has manifested itself in people posting videos with bad language and suggestive content. On the Sonic forum I have gone to the most, people are always talking about how "dark" the particular Sonic show they like is. Here are the, er, facts: 1. The "Croc" series is filled with kiddie, cutesy characters. 2. The series, namely "Croc: Legend of the Gobbos", has some very, very hard parts. Croc's target audience was most likely around 8-10 year olds, but with video games this doesn't seem to scare away older people from playing them. (There's nothing embarrassing about playing Mario and Sonic around others.) On the other hand, one time some old, teenage friend was at our house, and when he saw Croc was in the computer, he was like, "Who was playing this gay game?" And I thought, "Dude, you used to love that game!" So I guess it depends on who you ask. Whatever the case, this is a Croc forum, so obviously there is no pressure to hide that you like Croc, or that Croc is for kids. But maybe you aren't being defensive... I guess I just wanted to say that, and you gave me a good excuse. P.S.: Yes, I have gone to Thomas the Tank Engine websites. But I mostly just feel nostalgic about Thomas... and I make fun of it... and... and... And I'm getting defensive now. ;D P.P.S.: Sorry if anyone was offended by the above use of "gay," but that's what he said, not me. And plus, that was quite awhile ago now, so there's no real reason to get mad at him for that.

^^ There's nothing I dislike about the cutesyness of Croc... I think that's what you were saying. And Thomas is great... I was raised on that, man. But you are correct, sir, about everything you said.
