Why is a parkway called a parkway if you actually don't run around in grass and swing on swings?

I decided to play Croc this morning- so I powered up the ancient computer I keep only for that purpose, and started playing "Demon Itsy's Ice Palace". It's one of my favorite levels, and I just ran around and around the ice rink as Demon Itsy chased me. During that time, I notice three little slips- nothing major, but kind of amusing. 1. Croc and Demon Itsy have no reflections. It's quite strange, taking into account how mirrorlike the icy arena is, even reflecting the backgrounds and things you can't see- like the top of the tower. But the two moving characters are the only things in that room that are not reflected on the ice. All that shows are their circular shadows on the ice. Made me think of vampires... 2. The snow is just like the ice.The snow around the edges of the arena does not make the usual crunching sound as Croc runs through it- it makes the same clicking noise the ice does. Also, Croc leaves no footprints in the snow. 3. Demon Itsy has crunchy feet.As Croc runs over the ice, his feet make clicking noises. When Demon Itsy walks over the ice, his feet make crunching noises, like he's walking through dry snow, not over solid ice. Now that I recognize these little errors, this level will be a bit more amusing to play. I guess I had some time on my hands. I wonder if I ran around a room long enough, what other errors I would discover...?

An error like this perhaps?
"Croc has performed an illegal action and must now be destroyed," Options: "Slow and painful" or "Nuke him"
lol

Surely the programmers didn't care about those details.

I don't think it was they didn't care, it's just that it slipped their mind...Because, especially with the reflection one, it's quite obvious once you notice them.

Surely the programmers didn't care about those details. It's more likely a game limitation, they were squeezing in as much processing time as they could so the game wouldn't lag, and reflections back in the day were highly CPU intensive D:

Or something they forgot.

Interesting, never really noticed this. Reflections werent exactly an easy feat at the time, and from personal experience working on games, developers tend to save minor details for last and tend to focus on important gameplay mechanics and making sure the game runs smoothly. My guess is with the time contraints they either forgot about it or were more concerned with other issues.
