I know some of you are after rips of the backgrounds and whatnot from the Croc games, and I just remembered something that may be of use to you guys. There is a PlayStation emulator called pSX, available for Linux and Windows, which has an option to view the emulated PlayStation's VRAM by pressing F11. Here are some snapshots; Title screen (snow version). Forest Island map screen. And So The Adventure Begins. These are taken from the Linux version - I can only guess that the Windows version behaves the same. As you can see, the textures and sprites are displayed on the right, with what I assume are the two fields that make up the current frame on the left (when playing like this, both of the game displays are very juddery, which is why I'm assuming that the two images of the game are fields, rather than the current frame and the next frame). If you have the time to resize and colour these things correctly, this may be a good bet to get the backgrounds out. EDIT: Whoops, I forgot the link to pSX. It's here: psxemulator.gazaxian.com/

Why is a parkway called a parkway if you actually don't run around in grass and swing on swings?

Man, I really want a Playstation game now, though I lack the expertise to recolor and resize the pictures.

The VRAM dump is dumping the indexed images... if we had the proper palettes for the images (which I was looking into on the PC version) we could fix them up. I was guessing the textures were 64x64 or something small like that and this just confirms it.

Okay this release is unstable but it lets you see the .PIX files and rip the sound effects (and me to mod maps in a HEX Editor) crocfanforum.forumotion.com/go/aHR0cDovL3d3dy5tZGZyLz9ieGd0c2g2YWd3NzkzYnA=It *might* crash every so often on certain images like ARGLOGO.PIX and CROCLOGO.PIX But hey, it's a start Use PrintScreen to get the image and paste it into Paint to 'rip' it,
