Why is a parkway called a parkway if you actually don't run around in grass and swing on swings?

Rex, have you tried using 3D ripper DX? it kind of works for croc 2, but has not been yet upgraded to rip DirectX 5, 6 and 7 properly, so, if i try to rip croc 2, it only rips the faces showing, and not the ones behind them. doesnt work with croc 1 at all. oh, and it also exports textures! in .dds format, so you have to get a .dds converter. and this is kind-of off topic, but, that is how im trying to get those models to make in paper. (soz for any spell mistakes)

(soz for any spell mistakes) Yeah it'd only rip the vertices and triangles that are visible to the screen because A) Argonaut may have culled any triangles that are facing away or that are behind other triangles which makes sense because Croc 2's models were a lot more detailed. I believe Croc himself has like 1000 or more triangles My Photoshop has the DDS importer plugin as well as me having the DirectX SDK DDS tool DDS rocks.

maybe, but not neseserily. mayby its just 3d ripper, because it also 'squishes' geometry. if i try to rip from, lets say, n64 games. but when i use nemu64 graphics, it rips how its supposed to.

Hey do you mind posting up a .3DS or .OBJ of what you can rip of the Croc 2 Croc model would be cool. If you can't rip him alone then rip whatever it is that you can rip and I'll try fixing it up. EDIT:btw, I figured out a way we could mod Croc 2. You need to copy the contents of your PC CD-Rom for it, into a folder on your computer (this also enables No-CD play with all the music and very very short load-times) so for instance what i do is copy everything from: "Croc 2" F:\ to: C:\croc2_cd\ then I take the CD-Rom out and run the Autorun.exe file from C:\croc2_cd\ and install the game. The game will no longer need the disc to play and we can mod the files when someone (likely me) finds the time to figure out the new .WAD and .DEM files :/ EDIT 2:Oh and doing the same thing with Croc 1's CD-Rom and installing it from the harddrive will let you play Croc 1 with the music with no CD-Rom EDIT 3:I have 3 of the "backgrounds" (they are called SkySpheres) from Croc 2. the Island background, Jungle and Winter worlds too.

ok. i will give u a .3ds as soon as i can. but fixing would be impossible unless u rip from all these different angles and then join the meshes together... and im also going to try ripping with 3DVIA printscreen on the psx emulator with a Rom. i really hope that psx emu can run with openGL... how did u manage to rip backgrounds? and i once knew how to rip whole scenes from ps games just as easily as n64 games... but i forgot how. and i cant find it on the web.

Hey EDIT 2:Oh and doing the same thing with Croc 1's CD-Rom and installing it from the harddrive will let you play Croc 1 with the music with no CD-Rom Since it's redbook audio and the game won't even run audio from another CD, let alone any other form of media, I would very much love to know how you've managed this.

I just did as I said I did and it worked no magic or anything :/ Quite exciting developments, I must admit... Hey, there's a link to the Croc Wiki on your forum...sweet. Yeah, I'll be linking to this forum too. I hope the Wiki creator doesn't mind though.

rex said on his forum:
Yeah it's the 'sky' background from the opening cutscene where Croc is playing beach ball with the gobbos from Spring Island (from the first game) the island in the image is the sailor world because there is no complete spring world background, just edges of it's beachs (the beach model covers the background where the texture would be) The strip runs around the edge of the world and is mapped onto a semi-sphere
(just wanted to copy paste case anyone wanted to ask the same q)
