So yeah, I'm a game programmer and I got bored between playing Croc 1 and 2 so I opened up a new GameMaker 6 project since I really didn't feel like programming the whole game from scratch in a complex language... and well here's some screens to see what I achieved. Downloads:->Download crappy testing Alpha version from Mediafire<--Direct link to image-The only thing there that I made is the actual game code, the sprites for Croc are clearly the GBC game sprites ripped The basic stuff is in there... running, jumping, stomping, boxes (which break when stomped) crystals, moving platforms, stationary platforms, lives(Croc 2) What I don't have is Bad guys because I can't find any rips of Dantini's... which makes me question if the GBC game had Dantini's in it... since I never owned the GameBoy game myself and only had Croc 1 and 2. But anyways, I hope this screen is mouth watering I've worked hard and am proud enough of this to show it off... it handles like a professional made it and I really feel like Croc moves like Croc should.

Why is a parkway called a parkway if you actually don't run around in grass and swing on swings?

First off, welcome to the forum, rexhunter99! ;D That Croc game looks really neat. Is it a sequel of Croc 2, or a spin-off of sorts? What I don't have is Bad guys because I can't find any rips of Dantini's... which makes me question if the GBC game had Dantini's in it... since I never owned the GameBoy game myself and only had Croc 1 and 2. Yeah, the Croc 1 GBC game had Dantinis, and they could be pretty annoying. I have the game. But anyways, I hope this screen is mouth watering I've worked hard and am proud enough of this to show it off... it handles like a professional made it and I really feel like Croc moves like Croc should. That's awesome that you're proud of your work, rexhunter99! I'd be proud of that, too. You know, I've played some Croc fangames before and let me tell you, they didn't work very well. But if yours works as well as you say, I'd love to try it sometime!!

This is looking rather good - I'll be most interested to see how it develops. It's a shame GameMaker is Windows-only really (unless that has changed and I missed it) - although admittedly I've never had cause to see if GameMaker executables can be run under WINE, or by whatever other means there may be (I'm not aware of any native interpreters for the many other operating systems out there, though)... Regarding the Game Boy Colour Croc rips, both of those games had Dantinis and other assorted enemies in them, but I must be mildly blunt and say that it was daunting enough ripping just Croc's sprites from both of them (and I know that the Croc 2 GBC rips are lacking a number of frames of animation for Croc, even so), let alone the Dantinis and other assets. Lastly, welcome aboard - and that's a nice avatar you've got there. ;D

Hehe well the source-code is titled 'Croc 3' which to me implies a sequal to Croc 2... however I cannot think up a unique enough name to go with that... I can tell you that it includes some 'new' characters including one that I am developing in a chaptered fan fiction. Hmm so it does have Dantini's I'll have to go download the ROM and rip the sprites myself then, luckily enough my computer emulates a Gameboy so poorly I can pause it and rip frames out easily unlike newer computers. *Sniggers* Well I hope it'll be rewarding to download the Beta once I push it out. Hi Wily (or should I call you Forte?) anyway, GameMaker has plans to be put out on the Mac and it should run on Linux through emulation, I can't see why not... I'll take my hand at ripping the complete sets of animations myself then, I have a habit of succeeding in that regard with all my pokemon ripping skills Hehe Thank you very much Wily, and thanks for finally activating my account, I was literally bouncing and checking my email ever hour to see if I'd been activated so I could post here Hehehe. My avatar? *Chuckles* I based it off of the GBC Croc sprite and animated it myself... tedious but rewarding work ^_^ I actually have a few more variations of animation planned for that... Okay onto the game reports! I won't release a Beta demo until I smooth out the bugs and add in 'monkey bars' or whatever you'd call that... I mean to say where Croc grabs onto meshed floors and moves about by dangling from a ceiling. Oh and I'll have to rip the sound effects for Croc's voice since I can't find a tool that converts the sound files I hacked out of the Croc 1 files... Edit reason: UpdateAfter I ripped the Forest world tileset I put them into the game and it almost seemed to explode into life:
