If another Croc game were in the works, I'd like it to be just more of the same, though I'd prefer that it be similar to the original. Croc 2's environments were always either too colorful or uninspired, though Croc seemed to be capable of maintaining a proper balance of colors, with hues that eccentuated the environment and gave the game a more natural look. Croc 2 just seemed a bit too cartoony; That's not a bad thing, but I just think that the former style is more fitting. Also, the gameplay: I say that the game go back to it's roots; No fancy villages and all that stuff. While they didn't harm the game, they didn't add much either. They often seemed to disrupt the game flow. Also, those silly minigames. Sure, hang gliding was pretty fun, but the races were pretty redundant at times. Oh, and I'm sure that everyone here has ripped their hair out at one point or another because they couldn't get past the snowball level. It was like trying to play croquet with a savage, screaming baboon child as the mallet. Or milking a bull with a sewing needle. Really, I could just keep spewing out random, senseless idioms, and they'd seem tame compared to this ill conceived minigame. ...Okay, so it's not so bad after the first few times, but it was pretty aggitating the first time around. Also, the level design. I believe that Croc's map layouts were much more fun and interesting. In most maps, there was a lot of vertical movement, as well as a slew of other unique platforming elements, while Croc 2 was much more linear, with simple hallways eventually leading to a room full of lava, or another hazardous substance, and then more hallways. Also, in Croc, levels were strung together with countless little rooms. While this may not be the most efficient form of level design, it made things much more interesting, as the levels often spanned several environments instantaneously, with multiple tunes, backgrounds and other such elements. It sure beats Croc 2's bland stretches of caves and the like. Oh, and as for the characters I'd like to see... Well, Flibby and Fosley. Just because.

I would like to see a sensible control system!!! I never understood why they didn't let you push the direction to go in, instead of having to turn! Anyway, how's the game comming along?

They often seemed to disrupt the game flow. You know what? I agree, 100%. I have to admit, I do believe that Croc: Legend of the Gobbos is superior to Croc 2, despite what the critics said at the time (incidentally, many of them said that Croc 1 was a bad game, and I never agreed with that, either). Another thing I felt was missing from Croc 2, was the variety of weird and wonderful creatures who inhabited the game's world. For example, Croc 1 had likable characters like Tooty the Feeble (the first boss in the game! :D) Chumley, Fosley and the mountain goats who were combined to make Ice Demon Itsy - even if they had quasi-minor roles (I say "quasi-minor" because they were the bosses, after all, and therefore did get to do quite a few big things, even though it was only because they were under the influence of dark magic), they helped to give the game a whole lot of charm. I missed this with Croc 2 - the only new character there who managed to do this was Swap Meet Pete, in my view. Oh my God. THAT... I "fondly" refer to it as "The Annoying Snowhead Level", to be honest, because that just fits it so well. XD I dread it every time I go back to re-play Croc 2, sometimes so much so that it puts me off of bothering (I really do think it's that bad, lol). I actually remember playing it during the time I visited Argonaut's studio - it was just as difficult then, if not more so, due to a bug whereby the snowhead would get stuck or go off on invisible "tracks" that simply didn't exist. It was very strange. ^^;; Agreed, again. If Morpheme Mobile were to license the Croc franchise out so that a new non-cellphone Croc game could be developed* and released, I would love nothing more than to see a return to the "multiple bite-sized rooms" level formula - it was fun, and also lent itself quite well to playing in shorter bursts than is possible with Croc 2 - in my opinion, stages that are playable during short periods of playtime are always a good thing, particularly if you've got a busy life and still want to be able to enjoy video games. Heheh, nice choices. :D Now I think of it, I'd like to see Chumley return, too. He was quite amusing. I would like to see a sensible control system!!! I never understood why they didn't let you push the direction to go in, instead of having to turn! I actually quite liked the control system in Croc 1. After all, they had the push-the-direction-to-go-in system in Croc 2, and it worked pretty horribly, all things considered. It resulted in a lot of needless deaths, most of which weren't the player's fault at all. Croc 1's system was much more accurate and easy to work with, once you got used to it. -- * DS and PSP, please, Morpheme-guys, if you're reading this. ;) The series would be well-suited to the two new portables, particularly in its original form, if you ask me.

Another thing I felt was missing from Croc 2, was the variety of weird and wonderful creatures who inhabited the game's world. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that. Yes, Croc 2's creatures were quite bland. The enemies consisted mostly of dantinis, and even they were devoid of creativity. "Look! There's a dantini in a pirate outfit!" "Ooh, that one's in a caveman suit!" Also, the dantinis were much hulkier than their Croc 1 counterparts. I didn't particularly enjoy that, the transformation ruined their, eh... Cute factor.

Lots of Gobbos/Dantinis, like the variety of Monkeys they have in Ape Escape.
Another idea is to have suits for Croc, like a tarzan costume, a tuxedo and a space suit. That would be a great feature, you could run around as Croc in a tutu!

(Sorry to bring up an OLD TOPIC but this is interesting ^_^') I would like to see new characters from both sides, mini-games included, multi-language dialogue (No Gibberish), and new items, etc. The platforms I would like to see is PC, DS and Wii. Maybe later I can do sketches of my ideas for both plaftforms.

Why is a parkway called a parkway if you actually don't run around in grass and swing on swings?

I would like to see more new creatures. The dantinis are fine, but they really get monotonous after a while! Goo Man Chu in Croc 2 was pretty awesome, but was also very dull. So was the Village Mashing Automaton, but that level was also boring. And Venus Fly Von Trappe could have been really cool, but, once again, I think this boss was wasted. Another thing that I would like to see is Beany Bird. She didn't appear in Croc 2, and it was never really specified why she was magical. Maybe she could be a part of an entire race, consisting of brightly colored magical birds. Another thing I would like to see is new islands, like a nighttime New York-style city island. Or maybe a tropical island, with tropical plants and all that.
EDIT Come to think of it, Croc 1 felt a little more withdrawn and closed because of the lack of dialog. Croc 2 attempted dialog, but did not do a good job (with the gibberish and whatnot) in my opinion. so if a new Croc game was in the works, do you think dialog would be good or not? (gibberish or actual language)
