Ok, here's a little question for everyone, just purely out of curiousity - if Argonaut went ahead and did what they've said they'd like to do, and produced a new Croc game, which characters from the series so far would you like to see in it, and what sort of ideas and features would you like to see?
Myself, I'd like to see the game appear on the Nintendo DS, and take advantage of the dual-screened setup - perhaps using the touch-screen to show Croc's backpack when it's needed. Maybe you could find ways to fit more things into the backpack if you arranged it differently (literally by touching and moving things). Croc's backpack is something that hasn't been used nearly enough thus far, despite it being one of Croc's defining features as a character. Cut-scenes could be shown using both screens - it could make for some clever and/or dramatic effects.
As far as characters go, Croc and King Rufus are a must, and, obviously, so is Baron Dante. It'd be good to see some more of Croc's family - particularly his siblings (who would have hatched by now). Swap Meet Pete would be interesting to have around, although I have to admit to not wanting to see his store as it was in Croc 2 again - he's gonna have to make some changes, the overcharging goit. ;P

in the new one he should be in his own croc village with his family infact i think i put that as my base line for my croc game in the history section. also i think they should have Evil Croc and Swap-me-peet. but thats just a sugestion also maybe his backpack could have a booster rocket.

I also think an Evil Croc would be a good idea. I think they should have more about Baron Dante and why he hated crocodiles and gobbos so much.

The PSP has way better graphics, and is going to be selling more than the DS because it has mp3 and dvd playing abilities. So I would say since croc was a playstation game.. it should be a PSP game and maybe have a multi player mode where two players can play through a level and the PSP can do cut scenes.

The PSP has way better graphics, and is going to be selling more than the DS because it has mp3 and dvd playing abilities. As a matter of fact, retailers are having a hard time selling PSPs, whereas the DS is selling in it's millions. The PSP cannot play DVDs (it plays a disc format that nothing else uses or supports), and the DS can play both MP3s and movies also. To think that the PSP is going to sell more against a games console because of its superficial non-gaming features that are already done better by dedicated devices and players is extremely wishful thinking, really. It wasn't. It was a Sega Saturn, Windows 95, and Sony PlayStation game. Croc 2 was available for Windows 95, Sony PlayStation, and almost on the Sega Dreamcast (this version was cancelled due to Fox Interactive changing some things). The DS could do all of that stuff and more, too, though. Also worthy of note, is that the DS can do cutscenes and all that stuff, as well! Could it be that the capabilities of both consoles are pretty much the same (with the DS being able to do a bit more) when it comes down to it? Why, yes. Besides, this thread is very old, now, so none of this is even relevant anyway - Argonaut are now gone for good, and the Croc series is now cellphone-only.

But it has better graphics,
Yeah, I'm thinking of getting a team together to make a fan created Croc game.

But it has better graphics I've never seen graphics make a game good. I've often seen "better graphics" used to cover up really stinky games, though. XD Go for it! ;D What platform(s) would it be for? How long would it be? Etcetera. Anything you can tell us about it at this stage?

I think, good if in the next Croc, players can find something, like this: explanation, what name give to Croc his parents, what is his surname, why he floated in the cradle - something more about Croc. And music, sounds like in Croc: legend of the gobbos, but in another arrangements. I think, is good idea about DS.

Actually I do have a bunch of info, KIND of, I'm planning on making a 2d game and a 3d game. I have the character pretty much done for the 2d game done, I just have to design the levels and story, I have to find time to do that. My 3d game I'm still deciding whether I'm going to use the original Croc or (because of copywrite issues) Maybe make up my own.. diffrent croc which I created called Crok. Give me some info. Here's the 2D Croc. dave.xtreme-flash.com/croc2.swfHere's a picture of what might be the 3D one dave.xtreme-flash.com/crok.jpgtheirs 2 because I made 2 diffrent feet. Give me feedback, if i should change the look or keept he look or anything.

For Crok, I think you should make the legs a little shorter. I've always had this idea of making a game set about 10 years later, where you play as Croc's four younger brothers. (CJ (Croc Junior), Crack(pink) Crook (orange) and Creek (blue)). They think that Baron Dante is dead, until space dantinis start attacking! Croc would be the "commander person."

Give me feedback, if i should change the look or keept he look or anything. I really like the design for Mr. Crok, there. :D Fan-games starring characters who are just inspired by the originals often turn out much more interesting than fan-games that stick with the official characters, because the very fact that the 'inspired-by' characters are different from those of the game that inspired them allows the creator(s) to have more creative liberty over what to do with their game. I say go for it with Crok, myself - that will let you do more, because you'd be free from sticking with the established norms of the Croc universe. :D (That's not to say that, say, Baron Dante couldn't make an appearance, or whatever - it's just to say that you'd be free to do whatever you want. ;) ) Also, feedback-wise; I like the feet on the left-hand side of the picture, personally, if that's any help. ;)
