Croc 4

Hello everyone,
The development on Croc 4 has been started by me. This will most likely be a 2D-view-from-the-side game and using the GBC sprites from Croc 2. If anyone has ideas for the title (like Croc 3 had 'Rise of the Dante'), please let me know. Also, if you have ideas concerning anything about the game, tell me!

Unless Forte Wily has anything against it, I might call the game "Croc 4: Hero of the Gobbos".

Heh, that's fine with me. I simply always thought that "Hero of the Gobbos" had a game-like sound to it.

Thanks. I have a feeling that Croc 4: Hero of the Gobbos is going to be a great game (not compared to the real Croc 1 and 2, of course ). It will feature Gobbos to be saved, moving Dantinis, gems, and, most likely, keys and cages and other good things.

Okay, right now I really need some good level names like Croc: Legend of the Gobbos had. So far, I have decided that the last level will be called "And so the adventure ends" (and maybe "And so the adventure begins again" for the first level unless anything better comes up) as a tribute to the name of the first level in Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. I will need name suggestions for snow/ice levels, forest (normal) levels, castle levels and maybe desert levels. If you have any suggestions (no matter how stupid or good they are), please reply with them here or send me an e-mail.

To anyone who is reading this: Please help me with creating levels! If you could draw some levels and send them to me, that would be really great, since I can't really make all the levels myself.

I don`t sure, that my names for the levels are great, but I have some ideas about this. One level from the Forest Island can be named "Deep Green" - is a little bit changed name of the musical group "Deep Purple", like, as You already know, some names from Croc1 was changed names of famous things... Another level from the same island can be named "The Valley of Lava", because one novel about Sherlock Homes was named "The Valley of Fear". If You want, I can let you know, when I'l got another ideas about the names. Can I ask you, which program I have to use for draw the levels? Is okay, if I use Macromedia Flash? I must draw all the level, or I can draw only one single thing (for example tree, or stone) for this game? In which format must be this images? I wish You good luck in creating the game!

Thank you very much, Nike! I just need to know how the level should look like, and i will make a copy myself in gamemaker (the program used to make everything in this game). Of course, you will be credited for making levels, names, etc.

Can you actually use Gamemaker? No offence, but I'd be more willing to help if you showed me how good you are at making games.

Yes, I can use GameMaker. I am by no means a pro, but I know my way around. I have uploaded 2 games in a single ZIP file (~2 MB) here: www.gigafiles.co.uk/files/134/2games.zipNumberSmash, a breakout-like game, and ChopperJob, a game where you need to fetch the presents around the room and bring them to the large computer. Note that Croc 4 will be much bigger and better than these games, especially if i get some help - Per

I'm afraid I'm not, as I lack the ability to design levels particularly well. Sorry. If any puns for stage-names spring to mind, though, I'll post them.

I don`t think, that I can make something good, but I`m in... Ah, long time ago, I liked to draw something, like maps of the levels, dreaming, that one day it will be a game... Here`s I draw, how does the first level may look like - I hope, is possible to understand, what I draw and write...

Excuse me, but maybe I`m mistaken? Maybe, you meant, that you want backgrounds and this sort of things, but no maps?...
