I have created a "Croc 3: Rise of the Dante" beta game, if anybody wants to try it out go to www.freewebs.com/crocvg at the Croc 3 section.

I think this belongs in the Fan Stuff forum, since these are tests for a fan-game. *Moves topic*

Rules for using a beta test game:
1. The game cannot leave my site, you can however put a link to my site. 2. You cannot modify the game.

I suggest you find a better host for the downloads, becuse I was going to try it out, until I got to the 1.5kb/s download part. (and no, it's not my end, I'm on cable) Edit: Also, if the game can't leave your site then how is anyone to download it and try it? Also2, I don't think you can copyright it, since that's direct copyright infringement on the arognaut people or whatever their name is

However, you're right in that trying to copyright something like a name that would be used for a sequel by the owners of the franchise the work's based upon, or trying to claim their characters as one's own, is wrong, though.

If the game and/or character are heavily based upon an already copyrighted character or are meant to be that character I do not think they those could be copyrighted either, since I believe they would fall under the actual copyright of the character they were based upon.

Oh, yah, I know that. ^^;; I just meant any actual original content that constitutes part of a fan-work.

the game can leave the site but you cannot send the game to someone else or put the game on your site but you can download it. as far as the download time goes i cannot change it until i find a better way such as let someone else put it on their site or wait until i can find a better host, for now just wait for about 2 hours like i did to get it on my other computer. The copyright is only on the fan part such as the game story, plot, the evil croc, and backgrounds with some of the sounds. where as all the parts that fox interactive and argonaut such as croc, music, and the title with the exclusion of the "Rise of the Dante" are copyright of them.
PS The Evil Croc will only appear once in the final game and the others will be dante there will be bosses in each zone and if all items are caught then there will be a secret round. but until i get ideas submited then it will probably stay this way.

how do you hurt the enemies? i attacked them with the spin, but nothing happened, and it was really easy. 4 levels, and 10 seconds. i look forward to your final version. oh, and the 'ow' noise is annoying. can you please try to get a croc sound?

I know for a fact there is a search engine out there that lists over 1000, but off the top of my head I can think of a few, like tripod.co.uk (are they still around?), freewebs.com... oh, see if your ISP offers you any webspace, too (I know mine does, about 20 megs)

tried tripod and the final version of croc will have everything the offical ones have including a demo story, as far as the sounds go im having trouble with finding them i would greatly thank anyone for providing the croc sounds. The tail slash will be fixed and so will the part for the evil croc running off the screan. Please sign my guestbook if you have played the game and write a review letter there.
