I haven't tried because all the game is on the CD-Rom... it doesn't actually install anything except for the executable (game file)

In other words it means I must draw the map by hand. XD If it goes well and if it is workable, I will post here. ^W^

@rex - are you sure about that? I ceased using Microsoft Windows an incredibly long time ago, but I seem to recall that Croc 2 could be run flawlessly without the CD, whereas Croc 1 required it for music to be heard.

Why is a parkway called a parkway if you actually don't run around in grass and swing on swings?

Well, yeah, in order for music to be heard on Croc 1 there does need to be a CD in, but for Croc 2 all that happens when you try to start it up without the CD is a little window pops up stating 'Croc 2 CD not found. Please insert the Croc 2 CD and try again.' No, Croc 2 doesn't start up at all without the CD.

I'm just a wierd person that hates to use the original CDs with the fear of something bad happening to it, so when I play my favourite games on the computer, I burn a security copy of the game and play with it, or rip a ISO image from the CD and mount it in DAEMON Tools. On extreme cases is a crack if both things don't work.

Please insert the Croc 2 CD and try again.' No, Croc 2 doesn't start up at all without the CD. Really? Wow, my bad. I do wonder, though, if it's a regional thing - sort of like that Sony rootkit was. I distinctly remember not needing the CD... How weird. That's perfectly understandable - it's just more convenient when the games you've bought allow you to play them without needing to dig up the disc(s). Actually, I find it pretty insulting the way that most companies assume that their paying customers are criminals and treat them like criminals, whilst criminals get to use a superior product which they haven't paid for. (Don't get me started on the menace I faced when trying to run a game I'd bought, using WINE. )

Actually I think that Piracy does is a grave thing when you copy software AND SELL. Now, people who "illegaly" get software to: - Test it: If the person likes, buys. If the person doesn't like, puts it away/destroy it - Cannot find the real copy but pretends to get the original CD - To have a security copy of their original game I don't think these stuff are illegal things. For example for YEARS I was looking for the original CD of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos for PC/Windows 95 but I never succeded on it, and lived only with a copy. But NOW I finally found the original CD that I bought to proudly say "I have the original one, because I want to show to Argonaut and Fox Interactive people that I payed for a game that deserves profit." It shall arrive to my mailbox in the final of March month.

I purchased my copy of Win98 and got Croc 1 free with it, I still have the paper slip with the little "Free Croc: legend of the Gobbos!" sticker on it Over here in Australia, we are allowed to have up to 1 digital copy of a CD/DVD-Rom so long as we owned the original disc and are able to prove it via a reciept or an original case. (you can lose the disc but still be allowed to use the burned copy so long as you still own the original case or reciept from purchase, funnily enough I keep both those things.) And Forte Wily, I have searched my entire HDD and found that Croc 2 runs 99% off the CD-Rom it comes on. The only thing that comes off the disc during installation (due to the speed of installation) is the executable file that opens a window letting you choose a few options. Croc 1 just required the CD for the music, but was playable without it.

Unfortuneatly I always had a pirated copy of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos but I will finally have the original CD in a few weeks. ^^ A similar event happened when I was 7 years old, I remember that my father bought a DVD drive from Creative for the computer, and it was bundled with Captain Claw game. I still have got it. (It's another great platformer game)

Speaking of promotions relating to Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, while we're on that subject. Dixons (an electricals store here in the UK) had a promotion when Croc was released for Windows 95 - you got a backpack with Croc embroidered on it. I still have mine. ;D Anyway, sorry for the off-topicness.
